We’re getting near the end. Lots of finishing details are happening.

We have hit a delay though, with our windows. 😥 Our windows are all custom made, hurricane windows. The company that makes them had a problem with the assembly machine. They need a new part, which has to come to Spain, which, for some reason, will take a long time to get here. So, they’re sending the windows to Mexico City to be made, and then sending them back here. Ugh.

We have about half of our windows in place already. But the large ones for the main living areas are the ones delayed. So, we can’t finish some of the interior work (such as wood cabinets for the kitchen and living room and bedroom) until we actually have the windows in, as we those can’t get wet. The cabinets are built, and most are just hanging out, waiting to be installed.

So, there’s a bunch of stuff backing up because of the windows. The window guy says “soon”. 😜

I feel like we’re stuck on “one more month until it’s ready”. 🙄

The good news is that there’s a lot of other stuff that has been happening.

Kitchen cabinets, waiting for final install
Master bath. Notice we moved the outlets, for a better mirror placement
Guest bathroom is almost complete – just need a mirror and cabinet pulls.
Laundry room counter, with a marble countertop
Cafe on the 2nd floor. The countertops look amazing – the kitchen will have the same countertops.
Living room.
Front door, ready to be installed. It’s made out of Cumaru (Brazilian teak)
In-ceiling LEDs, speakers, and fan.
Closets
The tile on the wall behind the pool looks great. (Lots of rain recently, hence the half-full pool!)
Half bath on the top floor.
